There are so many options and possibilities today to market your business online.  If you are running a small business or non-profit, your time is precious, and so are your resources.

If you do not already have a presence on Facebook, you may be wondering if it is too late to start.. or should you use Pinterest?  YouTube? Blogger? LinkedIn?  Should you invest your time in social networks?

It is easy to find yourself falling deeper and deeper into the vast amount of information available on internet marketing.  What you need to do is start simple, and if it pays off by increasing your visibility in front of potential clients or members, then there is always more you can do.

I suggest you begin with a Facebook Profile and Fanpage.  Facebook is used by hundreds of millions of people from everyFacebookTipsOptIn demographic, around the world.  You can use Facebook to find potential clients, or to look up high school buddies who might provide a referral or have need of your services.  The Search bar alone is a powerful tool on Facebook, and can be used to find people who will have an interest in what you offer.

You can choose to post once a week, or several times per day.  You can let people know about special offers, events and post images of products.  But the most important reason to join Facebook is to satisfy people’s desire to get to know the owner of a business or organization they intend to patronize.  After all, their time and resources are also important. They want to know if they can trust you and your products.

Reading recommendations from happy customers, knowing you are involved in your community, or that you share similar interests in hiking, sports or movies – it all helps your potential client to get to know you and feel comfortable giving you their business.

So – test the waters with Facebook, and you will see that it can work for you!
